The application has closed to dentists trained outside the U.S. and Canada for the 2025 year. We will open up the application again between February and March or 2026. Make sure to have the following items prepared for when the application opens again next cycle.

Application Requirements
- TOEFL IBT: must not be expired and taken within 2 years of the program start date.
- Copy of the official test score is required
- Transcript
- Official dental school transcript must be provided
- ECE or WES report are required for transcript verification
- Recommendation Letters/ Personal Evaluation Forms (PEFS): We require 3 clinical recommendtion letters. 2 of the clinical letters must be froom operative/restorative faculty who were in a supervisory capacity that can attest to your general dentistry skills. The final letter can be from specialty faculty who can attest to your clinical skill
- If you have graduated and are currently employed, at least 1 letter must come from a dentist who has observed your clinical ability within the last 6 months. Letter must be written on school and/or company letterhead and signed by the person writing it with all titles and faculty appointments noted.
- Dean's Letter: Must be sent directly from the Dean through the application portal or emailed directly on Dental School letterhead from a dental school email address or released to NYU email via a school portal.
- Resume/CV- Must include the following information – Address, phone number, email, and attendance at all academic institutions with start and end dates. For graduates only – list all activities from dental school graduation to the current time of application. Note: if there is a gap (no activity) anytime between dental school and the time of application, CV must describe the reason for the gap/no activity- see sample CV

- National Dental Board Scores
- NBDE: The program accepts NBDE exam results, however, the examination is not required for application to the program
- INBDE: The program accepts INBDE exam results, however, the examination is not required for application to the program
- Applicants must be dental license eligible in those states listed above that require a permit or restricted (temporary) dental license to practice only within the scope of the program and at the assigned clinical training site.

Immigration Sponsorship:
Program participants must provide documentation of identity and U.S. work authorization valid for the duration of the program, as per Form I-9 requirements; failure to provide documentation of U.S. work authorization for the duration of the program will result in termination from the program and the participant will not be issued a completion certificate. Persons with an Employment Authorization Document (EAD card), including F-1 students in a period of Optional Practical Training (OPT), are advised to ensure they can independently secure U.S. work authorization valid for the duration of their program.
H-1B sponsorship is not provided for this program. Due to the provision in NAFTA for TN status for the occupation of Dentist, TN sponsorship is provided for eligible program participants.
