What is the mission of your training site?

Kintegra Health is a community-sponsored, family-centered provider of health care, health education, and preventive care services without regard for the ability to pay.

What types of dental services can I expect to perform?

Residents can expect broad clinical exposure, including endodontics, fixed and removable prosthodontics, implant placement and restoration, periodontal surgery, restorative dentistry, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.

What types of technologies can I expect to use?

Residents will have access to fiber-optic handpieces, an intraoral scanner, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), a soft-tissue laser, and intraoral cameras.

What is the patient population?

Our patient population is diverse and reflects the community we serve. Gender: 43% male and 57% female. Ethnicity: 37% Hispanic. Race: 64% Caucasian, 26% Black/African American, 1% Asian, and 10% other. Less than 1% of patients are reported as American Indian/Alaska Native or Native Hawaiian/Other Pacific Islander.

What is life like outside of the training site?

Gastonia offers convenient access to both outdoor recreation and the Charlotte metro area. The training site is about 40 minutes from downtown Charlotte and about 20 minutes from Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Outside of training, residents can enjoy Charlotte restaurants and nightlife, professional sports, museums, concerts, shopping, and nearby outdoor activities such as hiking at Crowders Mountain State Park.

Will residents have the opportunity to restore and/or place implants at your training site?

Yes. Residents will have opportunities to both restore and place implants at the training site.

Will residents treat children in your training site?

Yes. Residents will treat children as part of the patient population and will gain experience providing pediatric dental care.
