Developing treatment and management skills in unique and culturally diverse settings.  The Winslow Service Unit, of the Navajo Area, of the Indian Health Service encompasses 1,600 square miles and serves over 14,000 people. The principal dental clinical site is the Winslow Health Center, a comprehensive ambulatory center accredited by AAAHC. Two additional clinics in Dilkon and Leupp are within 35 miles of the center supplement its services. For the calendar year of 2010 the number of patient visits jumped to 145,285 with 14,772 being Dental visits. There are over 300 staff members  in the organization.  Residents develop close relationships with the Navajo community members and work together with staff and faculty to illness prevention and promotion of oral health.
