What is the mission of your training site?

The mission of Ascension DePaul Services (ADS) is to improve the health and well-being of communities

served, and to be a presence of the love of Jesus in the lives of all we serve and with whom we partner.

ADS values encompass Service to the Poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity and Dedication.

Ascension DePaul Foundation New Orleans supports the Mission and Values of ADS.

What types of dental services can I expect to perform?

  • Comprehensive exam and diagnosis.
  • Dental radiographs( Periapical, Bitewings,panoramic x-rays, cbct scan)
  • Adult /child prophy, fluoride varnish
  • Scaling and root planing (deep cleaning)
  • Periodontal maintenance.
  • Restorative( fillings,crowns,veneers,bridges, sealants)
  • Surgical procedures( simple or surgical extractions, wisdom teeth extractions, bone grafting (socket preservation)
  • Tori removal, alveoloplasty
  • Endodontic procedures( root canal therapy)
  • Nitrous oxide available
  • Removable Prosthodontics( complete dentures, partials, flippers)
  • Implant services(surgical implant placement, restoration)
  • Orthodontics invisalign(clear aligners age 13 and above)
  • Mouth guards, snoring appliances.
  • Teeth whitening. (Bleaching trays)

  • CBCT scan
  • Implant system
  • Diode laser

What is the patient population?

72.7% Medicaid,  16.3% private insurance and 11.0% self-pay, X% other

36.3% of patients are 100% and below the poverty level.

63.7% of patients are 200% and below the poverty level.

Medically compromised or special needs: 15%

What is life like outside of the training site?

International Airport, amtrak,

Seafood and creole food, variety of food and spirits

French quarters, bourbon street, City park, Cruises, amc theaters

Superdome basketball games, saints games, concerts, standup comedy shows

Mardi Gras every year in February

Swamp tours, Ziplines, Zoo etc 

LCMC medical center, Tulane university, LSU medical and dental school post graduate programs.
