Maryland - Chesapeake Health Care - PEDS

The NYU Langone Dental Medicine Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry program in Princess Anne, MD is affiliated with Chesapeake Health Care. Chesapeake Health Care (CHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center with clinical programs in Dentistry, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Mental Health and Obstetrics and Gynecology on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. This site places a large emphasis on pediatric sedation, pediatric general anesthesia, community outreach, and advocacy. Our residents’ complete sedation and general anesthesia cases well beyond the required CODA accreditation standards. Residents gain chairside experience at our Princess Anne and Salisbury clinics, out-patient care at Tidal Health Hospital and Surgery Center, and various rotations to supplement their education. In partnership with NYU Langone, Chesapeake Health Care shares a commitment to patient care, advocacy, research, and education. Our program places a strong emphasis on working as a team to provide quality patient care and enhance resident education. The Pediatric Residents provide comprehensive oral care to children and adolescents of Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset counties under the direct supervision of pediatric dentists.

In addition to offering a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic oral health services to enhance our residents’ clinical skills, the Maryland site provides an in-house curriculum. This individualized curriculum includes treatment planning sessions, case presentations and guest lecturers from other institutions to aid in successful completion of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Boards.
