Missouri - Jordan Valley Community Health Center - AEGD

NYU Langone Dental Medicine's program in Missouri offers unique experiences working in a large and diverse patient-base health center.  Jordan Valley Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center providing medical, dental, vision and behavioral health service with a mission of building healthy communities through access and relationship. Residents receive their clinical training, serving the community, caring for patients at either the main community health center in Springfield, or in one of five of Jordan Valley’s satellite clinics and dental mobile units. The dental staff works in collaboration with medical staff, along with behavioral health consultants With nearly 500 employees in the systems, Jordan Valley boasts almost 80 dental chairs across the organization.

Residents will have the opportunity to work with oral surgeons for implant placement and removal of impacted thirds. There is plenty of opportunity to gain experience in a variety of complex cases including medically compromised, special needs, and endodontics. Treatment of medically compromised adult special needs patients includes cases performed in a hospital operating room. Jordan Valley’s large dental staff provides a wide range of dental knowledge in all aspects of dentistry, along with a strong support system. Literature review, resident meetings, and other didactic assignments, which include presentations, may be assigned on weekends or after clinical hours. The Missouri locations are pleased to offer a rigorous and competitive advanced education in general dentistry experience.
